Andy Rubin has announced via his Twitter account (and Google Plus) that over the Christmas weekend ( 24th & 25th ) there were 3.7 million Android devices newly activated. The usual amount is around 700,000 a day, so they’ve increased the amount four-fold in those two days.
How these ‘ activation's’ are qualified, Andy Rubin explains:
"…and for those wondering, we count each device only once (ie, we don’t count re-sold devices), and “activations” means you go into a store, buy a device, put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service."
