One of the unique selling propositions of the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet is Amazon's very own Silk browser that is touted to offer cloud-accelerated speeds to users, thereby improving surfing speeds by compressing web sites before sending them to your device.
But reportedly, a member at XDA-developers forum has managed to extract the browser from the Kindle Fire tablet and ported it over to non-Kindle Fire Android devices.
Developers have actually released what is apparently a port of Silk for other Android devices. According to the Verge, a tech-based website, "Forum members have reported that it is working on the Motorola Atrix and Droid X. Anybody with a Galaxy Nexus is apparently out of luck, as the port isn't working on Android 4.0." Also, the port requires a rooted phone.
