NetUP intros Android-based TV set for IPTV

NetUP, an IPTV manufacturer from Moscow, Russia is now ready to offer an IPTV solution with no IP set-top boxes needed, said a press release.

This is possible with a TV set that contains Android-based IP STB integrated, the release added.

According to the release, to set up an IPTV solution it's only needed now to have the headend equipment (for example, NetUP IPTV Combine 4x), local area network with multi-cast support and such TV sets.

According to the release, the device looks like an ordinary TV set and allows the users to access the following IPTV services: watching Live TV with interactive features, using Electronic Program Guide (EPG), enjoying VoD movies and many more.
Besides that subscribers can take advantage of all Android features: Web surfing, social networking, gaming, YouTube, Skype, Google Maps and thousands of other applications on the screen of their TV.
