You might have heard the rumor that Facebook will be
launching its own smartphone. It seems like rumor is true as according to MG
Siegler of TechCrunch Facebook is all set to unveil it at a special event this
week. It’s still unknown what kind of OS it would run but he does have a
significant hunch what this phone might be featuring. It’s quite obvious that
new Facebook phone would feature s customized version of Android OS like Amazon
Kindle Fire Tablet. Building a new OS scratch would be too much time consuming
plus it would be easy to have access to vast library of Android apps. As phone without
apps these days will be useless.
There are chances that Facebook might team up again with HTC
as they both had earlier introduced ChaCha, which ran Android with HTC Sense on top, but had a dedicated Facebook
button.
